Munich Creative Business Week plans to organize a "Moonshot" this year. This format, a mix of hackathon and pitch competition, will allow an idea or early-stage startup to be rapidly developed within 72 hours. The plan is to ultimately launch the young company into its successful career. Startups can apply until February 16, 2019.
In just three days—from March 9 to March 12, 2019—over 100 experts and catalysts with a combined total of more than 1,500 years of professional experience will generate applicable output for your startup idea, according to the organizers. The organizers praise the event as a 'catapulting event into the hearts of fans, markets, and investors,' with the final competition for the "Moonshot“ is pitched.
What happens during the moonshot?
In this 72-hour format, a startup's idea is designed to make a quantum leap in implementation and quality with the intensive support of consultants. The focus is on the big picture, but also on details such as product design, business plan, contracts, marketing, and strategic direction. The final step is a pitch to investors. Specifically, the goal of the project is to develop an (early-stage) startup into a company within three days of the MCBW, which then has the potential to become a global market leader within a few years with a socially relevant idea.
Which startups can participate?
In addition to on-site support, the winning pitch will also receive Europe-wide network contacts and access to financing. Participants from the fields of energy, mobility, smart cities, environment, or Industry 4.0 must demonstrate a compelling mix of innovative business ideas, a suitable team, global market potential, and social impact. Only startups from the DACH region are eligible to participate.
