The construction startup Abaut is collaborating with the Austrian prefabricated house manufacturer Elk Haus. The Munich-based company's technology enables a GDPR-compliant live stream from the prefabricated house construction site.
In collaboration with Abaut, the Lower Austrian company Elk Haus will offer customers and employees a 24-hour live cam. This allows builders to follow the construction of their prefabricated home live and create a video as a keepsake. The prefabricated home manufacturer can use the live stream to monitor construction progress remotely, saving on travel time. Bodo Braun, General Manager Germany at ELK Haus, says:
"Working with a young and innovative company like Abaut is a great opportunity for us to open the door to digitalization in the construction industry and to actively drive this development as a pioneer. We expect this will not only increase efficiency in the construction process but also provide the opportunity to offer customers greater transparency and direct involvement in the creation of their home."
The smart camera system of the startup, founded in 2017, independently detects processes relevant to the construction process. For example, it can monitor the fill levels of construction waste containers and the completion status of individual construction phases. This should relieve the workload of construction personnel, allowing them to focus on the rapid completion of the house.
Abaut founder: “We are very grateful for the opportunity”
Using an algorithm, Abaut blurs faces on camera recordings and is intended to help European General Data Protection Regulation Abaut founder Sebastian Kaluza and CEO Max-David Falkner can be quoted with the words:
"We are very grateful for the opportunity to introduce these innovative technologies into a rather conservative industry with prefabricated house manufacturer Elk, and we look forward to a close collaboration. In doing so, we pursue the vision of offering solutions to the fundamental challenges facing the industry: By generating previously unknown information and insights, large parts of the construction process chain can be optimized and automated."
