Abaut has successfully completed its financing round. Bayern Kapital, together with EquityPitcher Ventures, EIT RawMaterials, and existing investor Bauer AG, is investing in the technology company specializing in digitalization. The startup develops hardware and software solutions for the construction and raw materials industries – with the goal of making processes on construction sites significantly more efficient and data-driven. The additional funds will be used specifically to expand sales and marketing structures and further develop the product portfolio.
"We will use this additional funding to strengthen our sales and marketing team. We will also focus on product development and further refine our algorithms so that our customers can achieve even greater efficiency and productivity gains with our solution,"
explained Sebastian Kaluza, Founder and CEO of Abaut.
Digital solutions for real construction site problems
Abaut addresses current challenges in the construction and raw materials industries: from skilled labor shortages to volatile raw material prices to high operating costs. The startup's solutions are based on vendor-independent sensors – such as cameras – that, in combination with artificial intelligence, record, evaluate, and optimize work processes on construction sites.
The systems developed by Abaut are designed to enable managers to analyze the use of construction equipment, optimize its utilization, and shorten transport routes. Targeted measures can also improve the CO₂ footprint. In the future, the systems will even be able to automatically prepare decisions and provide concrete recommendations for action in real time.
The Munich-based startup's solutions are currently in use in 18 countries, including major infrastructure projects in road, rail, and route expansion. Its customers primarily consist of leading companies in the construction, raw materials, and infrastructure sectors.
Scalable technology convinces investors
With its market-ready technology, clear industry focus and data-driven approach, Abaut was also able to convince Bayern Kapital. Monika Steger, Managing Director of Bayern Kapital, says:
"The construction and raw materials industry is a market with a high demand for practical digitalization solutions to make various processes more effective, transparent, and therefore more cost-effective. The scalable, AI-based solutions from abaut GmbH address precisely this need. Furthermore, the company has an industry-experienced team with good contacts to potential customers, has experienced continuous sales growth in recent years, and expects significant growth in the future. These factors make abaut GmbH a relevant and promising investment for us."
