Munich startup Spendit is Austria's HR Newcomer of the Year

Spendit was named HR Newcomer of the Year in Vienna. The Munich-based startup impressed the expert jury at the HR Inside Summit in Vienna with its app Lunchit.

This year's HR Newcomer Award at the largest event of the Austrian HR scene in the Vienna Hofburg goes to the Munich startup founded in 2014 Spendit.

The company received the award for its app Lunchit. This replaces traditional paper meal vouchers that employers issue to their employees. Employees are not tied to a specific restaurant, employers benefit from the automated administration process and reduced costs, and restaurateurs benefit from reduced commissions.

"We have always admired Austria's distinctive culinary culture. We are all the more proud to be able to help shape it digitally with Lunchit. We firmly believe that appreciation in the form of smart employee benefits will become increasingly important in times of competition for the best minds. And we are delighted to support the rapidly changing HR industry with new, intelligent solutions."

so Florian Gottschaller, founder and board member of Spendit AG.

Photo of the meal receipt is sufficient

Employees simply take a photo of their lunch receipt with the app. The following month, they receive the cost directly with their salary: up to €4.40 tax-free per working day. Unlike traditional meal vouchers, employees with Lunchit are completely free to choose their lunch location and can even use the app from home. The app can be customized to individual corporate designs and is officially recognized by the Austrian Ministry of Finance.
