“Artificial intelligence is the key to our future viability” — UnternehmerTUM presents appliedAI

Already announced a few months ago and now with strong partners: At a press conference, UnternehmerTUM presents the initiative appliedAI before.

The merger of UnternehmerTUM With 26 leading technology and industrial companies such as Google, NVIDIA, Allianz, Linde, Porsche Consulting, SAP, and Siemens, as well as partners from politics and science, it aims to advance the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in Germany. To this end, it aims to convey a broad understanding of AI, its significance, and its potential applications, build expertise among company employees and students, provide interested parties with easy access to the technology, and promote the rapid implementation of prototypes and the exchange of experiences. The social and economic impacts of artificial intelligence will also be discussed.

"Artificial intelligence is the key to our future viability. Digitalization is a crucial driver of innovation for the economy, and machine learning is a key aspect of this. That's why I fully support the appliedAI initiative. Our common goal is to be one step ahead of the international competition in the future,"

says Franz Josef Pschierer, Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology.

With 26 partners, selected startups, and over 100 dedicated students, the initiative is already one of Europe's largest initiatives in the field of applied artificial intelligence. It offers startups, medium-sized and large companies, as well as technology partners, an open, non-profit, and neutral platform where their expertise is pooled.

AI is of great importance for the economy and society

It brings together partners, companies and interested parties under one roof to work on innovative AI solutions for a wide range of application areas and to accelerate their deployment.

"Artificial intelligence is already influencing how we move, eat, and work in the future. The developments in recent years in the areas of autonomous driving and robotics alone show that AI is of great importance for the future of our economy and society,"

says Dr. Andreas Liebl, Managing Director of UnternehmerTUM Projekt GmbH and head of the appliedAI initiative. He continues:

“We have partnered with leading industrial and technology companies to educate and accelerate the adoption of the technology through knowledge sharing, training, and prototyping.”

In the AI laboratory in Garching near Munich, the UnternehmerTUM provides all interested parties with state-of-the-art hardware, the knowledge of on-site experts, and advice on the development of AI technologies and the exploration of their areas of application.
