Every year, the EIT Digital Challenge honors the best European startups in five categories. This year, Munich-based startup Cleverciti Systems can count itself among the lucky winners. In addition to a €50,000 cash prize, the company will also receive a one-year membership in the EIT Digital Accelerator worth €50,000.
The Winner of the Munich Startup Award 2016, Cleverciti Systems, can also celebrate first place in the 'Best Digital Cities Scaleup' category at the EIT Digital Challenge.
"We congratulate Cleverciti, who have prevailed against very strong competition from across Europe. […] The search traffic that Cleverciti has declared war on is a huge problem for inner cities. Not only does it increase the car journey time, but it also causes an estimated 1.3 kg of CO2 emissions per parking search,"
commented Dominik Krabbe, Head of the EIT Digital Challenge, on the Munich-based startup's win. To successfully apply for the EIT Digital Challenge, the scaleups had to be headquartered within the EU and have a minimum turnover of €300,000 in 2016. They also had to be less than 10 years old.
