And it drives – Sono Motors has the SION tested

Just presented to the public, Sono Motors is now having the SION tested by the company: Supporters of the crowdfunding campaign and other interested parties can drive the electric car during the test drive tour through several German and European cities. And give their opinion.

Munich, the home base, so to speak, is the starting point. The Tour de SION begins here in the Olympic Park: a test-drive tour that will take the Munich-based startup across Germany and Europe. A total of twelve cities in six countries are on the program. Sono is traveling with two prototypes. One will be used for test drives, while the other can be examined more closely by visitors. In Munich alone, around 1,000 interested parties who had pre-registered for a test drive took advantage of the offer and each did a five-minute lap in the Munich-based electric car. Afterwards, they were able to take a closer look inside the five-seater. Inside the car, the green moss, which is supposed to serve as an air filter, immediately catches the eye. Other facts: The SION's trunk volume is 650 liters, and it currently accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 11 seconds.

Sono Motors SIONAnd what have been the reactions of the Munich test drivers so far?  Jacob from the Sono Motors Event Team says:

"Very positive. People are excited that we got the SION on the road so quickly. After all, just one year as an effective development period for a prototype isn't really common in the automotive industry. Another thing that's been very well-received is the white design, which clearly shows the solar panels. Since we didn't communicate this beforehand, it's always been a bit of a wow factor."

During his test tour, Sono Motors is not only looking for compliments, but also wants to collect valuable feedback that can be incorporated into further development if necessary.

And what happens after the TestDrive tour, which will last until the end of October? According to Jakob, the first crash tests will take place in 2018. Following that, there will likely be another short tour so that even more people can test the SION.
