SMART HOME MEETS JOURNALISM
"Alexa, what's new?" and "Okay, Google!" are just the first step. The right smart home offers a completely new ecosystem for delivering journalistic content to its users. In the Internet of Things, smart environments, from refrigerators to lamps, learn what we like and what interests us. Just as everyone already has their own Netflix profile today, in the smart home of the future, every resident will have an individual user profile.
But how can we bring journalism, news, and stories into the smart home? What types of content and formats are possible?
Meet IBM Watson and the Süddeutsche Zeitung! Our partners will present their vision for a connected future, and you can engage in exclusive discussions with their most innovative minds!
#FUTURELAB WORKSHOP
In the #FutureLab, we want to work with you to invent the journalism of the day after tomorrow for five future technologies. In a three-hour workshop, you'll develop initial ideas for the smart home—together with our tech partner IBM Watson and our media partner Süddeutsche Zeitung.
IBM Watson is one of the absolute pioneers in the development of the Internet of Things and, as a tech partner, offers you exclusive access to IBM's Watson and IoT technology.
Süddeutsche Zeitung is our media partner and provides you with exclusive access to SZ content, feeds and technology for the workshop.
Together with our Methodworks coaches, we'll then use the design thinking method to develop initial ideas for what journalism could look like in the smart home. You can turn these ideas into working prototypes at a hackathon on June 9–11, 2017.
