AUGMENTED REALITY MEETS JOURNALISM
The push notification on the contact lens display offers a relevant story for the corner we're currently in? A bright future! Augmented reality offers entirely new possibilities for connecting the environment with information. Google's Project Tango offers the opportunity to equip smartphones with AR capabilities—and thus completely new possibilities for journalistic storytelling. How can we best utilize the technology? What content and scenarios are conceivable in the future?
#FUTURELAB WORKSHOP
In the #FutureLab, we want to work with you to invent the journalism of the day after tomorrow. How can news use technology to its advantage? In a three-hour workshop, you'll develop initial ideas on the topic of augmented reality and journalism – together with our partners ASUS and Red Bull Media House.
Technology Partner ASUS introduces the new ZenFon AR, optimized for augmented reality, and offers you the opportunity to work hands-on with the device and Google's AR developer platform Tango.
Our media partner Red Bull Media House provides content and insights into possible journalistic applications.
Together with our coaches, we'll then use the design thinking method to develop initial ideas for what journalism could look like in the smart home. You can then turn these ideas into working prototypes at a hackathon on June 9–11, 2017.
SCHEDULE MAY 31
