This year, students from all Munich universities were once again able to submit their startup ideas with just five euros of start-up capital. At the closing event in the Steelcase Creative Hall at the SCE, selected finalist teams presented their ideas in startup pitches. The winner this time was the dog-loving app "Meute."
LMU students Carolin Piecha and Daniel Jonah want to connect dog owners with their app "Meute." The social network will allow them to find dog walkers and dog sitters, as well as provide information on dog flea markets and veterinary recommendations.

Second place went to two teams this time: "DiverCity" and "Green Brain." DiverCity showcases the diversity of Munich's residents in a 28-page cookbook. Each recipe is accompanied by a featured chef. The focus is on Munich residents with a refugee background. Green Brain aims to offer students healthy, organically produced food in vending machines.
“The 5-euro startup competition is an ideas competition and not a business planning competition,”
says Michael Kriegel, organizer of the competition.
"Nevertheless, some ideas have now been able to establish themselves as companies. Whether that will succeed this time remains to be seen."
The three winning teams will receive cash prizes worth a total of 1,800 euros, donated by the Stadtsparkasse München.
