Do you have a startup with which you want to contribute to a better future for our planet and a more sustainable society? Then PlanB is the right place for you. For the sixth time now, you have the opportunity to present your business ideas for bio-based, sustainable solutions for the Competition to be submitted.
Requirements for your participation in PlanB:
- Your idea addresses the topic of bioeconomy value chains. The rule of thumb: If biogenic raw materials or residues are used or addressed innovatively and chemically or energetically, it fits the concept.
- Your company is less than five years old or has not developed beyond TRL 4. You don't even have to have been founded yet, but you must have an intention to establish one.
- You demonstrably address challenges for a more sustainable life.
- There is a connection to Bavaria, for example through origin, studies or partner.
This is how Plan B works
To apply, you must submit an online form, including a read deck, by November 29th. Starting in December, selected PlanB startups will have access to various support options, before a two-day coaching boot camp awaits them in January. At the end of January, a jury will evaluate and select the final startups. After further online workshops and networking events in February and March, the awards ceremony will take place on April 29th, 2025, with pitches from the final startups and a subsequent awards ceremony. Important: You decide for yourself how much you want to gain from PlanB. Coaching sessions, events, and other community activities are voluntary and not required to reach the top.
This is what you can win
The winning startup will receive €6,000 in prize money and support from the PlanB team and network. They'll also receive a year's rent-free accommodation in a starter module at the TGZ in the Straubing-Sand harbor. Second and third place will receive €4,000 and €3,000, respectively. In addition to the main prizes, three special prizes will be awarded, including one for the team that demonstrates the most significant development during the competition.
