Since 1998, the Science4Life Startup competition Founders in the life sciences, chemicals, and energy sectors receive a unique platform. This year, the startup initiative is once again supporting young companies from the initial idea through concept development to an investor-ready business plan. The new competition round began on September 1, 2025, and the idea phase runs until October 6.
Founding teams can submit a three-page idea sketch online and thus participate in the Science4Life Venture Cup or the Energy Award. In addition to prize money totaling more than €60,000, valuable benefits await: access to a network of over 300 industry experts, detailed written feedback on each submission, and the opportunity for professional coaching with a personal sparring partner. The teams also benefit from webinars and training opportunities on startup-related topics.
The best teams will be invited to the digital Academy Day in November. There, they can further develop their ideas in workshops and receive practical support for the next steps of their startup.
Comprehensive support in 3 steps
The competition is divided into three phases: The idea phase focuses on the business idea and its market potential. In the concept phase, the business model is developed in detail with experts. In the final business plan phase, an investor-ready business plan is developed, which startup teams can use to successfully launch their venture. Participation is flexible – entry at later stages is also possible.
