Exomatter wins the Rising Digital Award 2024

Award for Exomatter: The Munich-based startup, which has developed a platform for material properties, has been honored with the Rising Digital Award 2024. The prize is endowed with 30,000 euros.

Exomatter has developed a platform that will enable development departments to find suitable materials for specific applications in the future – thus eliminating the previously common trial-and-error method in the laboratory. Access to an AI-supported database that contains more than 1.5 million materials and their properties should enable informed decisions to be made. For this innovative approach, the startup was awarded the Rising Digital Award 2024, which the IT company Conciso has awarded for the third time. Sebastian Neus, one of Conciso’s managing directors, explains:

"The Munich-based startup Exomatter addresses a real need in an important market, uses excellent digital technology, and has proven entrepreneurial skills. We recognize precisely these combinations. The viable business model and visible progress, including through the use of AI, convinced our jury."

30,000 euros prize money

Josua Vieten, co-founder and CEO of Exomatter, discovered the gap in the market while researching sustainable and affordable materials for a solar solution for his doctoral thesis, which required him to search through numerous global data sources. Exomatter now handles this automatically and according to the desired physical, chemical, and technical criteria.

With the Rising Digital Award, Exomatter receives prize money of 30,000 euros and will also be supported by Conciso in the coming months in the further development of the company – with coaching from experienced experts and the provision of the Conciso work garden for meetings and training.
