Spacefounders is considered the only accelerator in Europe dedicated exclusively to space. It offers access to mentors, a network, and resources specifically tailored to space tech startups. The accelerator's network includes ESA and DLR, as well as corporations such as Thales Alenia Space and Airbus. The three-month program provides participants with networking and inspirational sessions at space sites in Germany, France, and Italy. It also offers online conferences and mentoring sessions.
Spacefounders is still looking for startups for Batch #5. To be eligible to apply for the program, companies must be headquartered in a European country and their product or solution must be close to market readiness. Specifically, a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of Level 4 is expected. It is also considered advantageous to have already completed a financing round and to have a first customer. Participants are also expected to contribute to the competitiveness of the European space technology ecosystem, including sharing knowledge and supporting other entrepreneurs. The application deadline for the fifth batch is May 20.
The batches so far include startups from numerous European countries, including Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Austria, Slovakia and Spain. Dcubed, Life and Deltavision Three companies from the Munich ecosystem were also present.
