Generation-D: Social Startup Competition Starts New Round

The nationwide startup and ideas competition Generation-D is once again seeking creative projects and ideas with social added value. Social startups can apply until February 9, 2024.

With its social entrepreneurship competition, Generation-D aims to support entrepreneurial ideas in the early stages of their development. The focus is on achieving the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Through the competition, participating teams receive access to Generation-D's network and expertise, as well as financial support. Project-specific prize money is available, which in recent years has ranged from €1,500 to €7,500 per winning team.

Generation D: Applications by February 9

The first round of applications, which ends on February 9, will be followed by a second round in which the selected startups will present their pitch deck and business model. Generation-D will also support them in developing these. The third round will consist of personal interviews before the Leader Pitch in the summer. Here, the final teams will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to leading figures from politics and business, network with them, and receive professional feedback. The final pitch event is scheduled for the fall.

This year's winners will be selected at the high-profile final event in the fall. Startups in the planning, founding, or development phases are eligible to participate. Startup ideas in the orientation phase are also welcome. Furthermore, your company should not yet be registered in the commercial register or should have been registered for less than five years.

Applications can be submitted until February 9th. To do so, interested founders must create an online account with Generation-D and submit information about themselves and their idea in the form.

Munich startups like Climedo Health, Social Bee and Wastebuddy have already impressed at the Generation D competition. Last year, Hopfon first place. The startup, also based in Munich, develops circular building materials from hop harvest waste.
