Quantum Systems secures 63.6 million euros

In a Series B financing round, Quantum Systems raised €63.6 million for its electric reconnaissance drones. This makes the Munich-based startup the first European company to raise more than €100 million for a dual-use technology.

Drone robotics company Quantum Systems announces the successful completion of its Series B financing round of €63.6 million, bringing the total financing amount for the Munich drone manufacturer to over 100 million euros. The investment is led by HV Capital and DTCP, followed by Project A, Thiel Capital, ScaleUp Fonds Bayern, Omnes Capital, and Airbus Ventures.

Quantum Systems' drones, originally used for agriculture and the construction sector, have also been deployed by the military since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine. The startup recently signed a framework agreement with the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) for the delivery of Vector reconnaissance drones. In cooperation with the defense company Airbus Defence and Space The startup is developing tactical drones with AI and swarm technologies.

The company's Vector drone It is capable of vertical takeoff and landing and can be used both as a fixed-wing aircraft and as a multicopter. The manufacturer also promises a battery life of 120 minutes and a video transmission range of more than 15 kilometers. Since Quantum Systems has already delivered numerous Vector systems with AI edge computing capabilities to the Ukrainian armed forces, the drones are also considered battle-tested.
