Munevo wins Bavarian Innovation Award

The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, together with the Association of Bavarian Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Association of Bavarian Chambers of Skilled Crafts, has awarded the Bavarian Innovation Prize 2022. The special prize in the startup category goes to Munevo.

Munevo is developing a smartglass solution for controlling wheelchairs using head movements. The company recently Munich startup based in MTZ close a financing round with 3 million euros. The capital will be used, among other things, to Expansion into the United States make possible.

Bavarian Innovation Award: “We are very proud and happy”

The Bavarian Innovation Award has been presented since 2012. It recognizes product and process innovations, as well as technology-oriented services developed in Bavaria and launched on the market no more than four years ago. The award carries no cash prize.

Munveo prevailed against the competition in the special category “Startup.” On its LinkedIn page the startup writes:

“We are very proud and happy that our work has been recognized with the Innovation Award – thank you!”

The main prizes go to Evosys Laser from Erlangen, Simon Möhringer Anlagenbau from Wiesentheid, and Schlenk Metallic Pigments from Roth. The special prize in the "Companies with Fewer than 50 Employees" category goes to EOMAP from Seefeld. The special prize in the "Business and Science Cooperation" category goes to Heinz Soyer Bolzenschweißtechnik from Wörthsee, and the special jury prize goes to the Schreiner Group from Oberschleißheim. Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger says:

"Only with a successful and sustainable innovation culture can Bavaria remain attractive as a business location and overcome crises. The winners and participants in the 2022 Bavarian Innovation Award competition are making a significant contribution to this."
