5 investors, networks, and incubator programs that women in the (Munich) startup scene should know about.

Svenja Lassen, founder of Female Investors Network: Svenja Lassen, head of the Munich office of the Austrian startup investor network Gateway Ventures (formerly Primecrowd), also launched the Female Investors Network (FIN) in 2020. FIN is intended to be an open contact point for women interested in investing who want to expand their knowledge, exchange ideas, and learn from each other. Here, active business angels who have already invested meet with women who are approaching this topic for the first time and who want to become investors in the future. The common goal of all participants is to increase the overall proportion of women in the startup ecosystem—both among female investors and female founders. In the interview We wanted to know from Svenja Lassen why the startup scene needs a network like FIN: "Because before, there was no network of this kind where like-minded people could meet on equal terms and exchange ideas openly. While there are female investor groups, they mostly consist of women who already have investment experience. My goal is to raise awareness about startup investing in general, to get more women excited about this topic, and to lower the barriers to entry. And for that, you need a contact point where every question is welcome and people encourage each other. Or as one of our investors once said: "Starting startup investing is like learning a new language. You need a little vocabulary and then an environment where you feel comfortable talking to each other." That's exactly what we offer." (Photo: Stefanie Kresse)
