Agile Robots has acquired the hardware, including all safety-relevant components and hardware-specific software rights for the 'Yu' cobot from Voraus Robotik. The Munich-based company, which was founded almost a year ago in a Series C round 186 million euros wants to further advance product development and secure the supply chain in order to establish cost-efficient industrial production in Germany.
'Yu' cobots on the market in 2023
Advance Robotics is deepening its software focus and licensing its integrated robot control software and user interface for the 'Yu'. For 'Yu', the Munich-based and Hanover-based companies will continue to work together to further develop the robot control system in line with high market demands and provide the necessary customer support.
'Yu' is designed as a universally deployable cobot with a maximum payload of seven kilograms. According to the company, the first safety-certified 'Yu' cobots are expected to roll off the production line at Agile Robots' plant in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, in early 2023 – initially for the European market, then globally.
