Celebrate Company takes over Atelier Rosemood

Celebrate Company, which owns card making, among other businesses, is acquiring the French company Atelier Rosemood for a mid-double-digit million euro amount. The acquisition is intended to support the company's growth strategy and its goal of becoming one of Europe's strongest digital photo services companies.

At the beginning of 2020, Celebrate Company Straub Druck+Medien AG, in 2021 the company brought the private equity firm EMZ Partners on board and at the end of the same year it acquired Mintkind. As part of this growth strategy, Celebrate Company is now acquiring the French company Atelier RosemoodThe company from Gilching is thus taking over a preferred candidate who is not only economically convincing with a growth rate of 17 percent and an annual turnover of 13.5 million euros, but according to Steffen Behn, Co-CEO of the Celebrate Company, can also score points with other aspects:

"In addition to the strategic fit, the cultural fit is particularly important to us in all our acquisitions. This is the only way we can meet our high quality standards. We founded the Celebrate Company to help people transform their significant life moments into beautiful memories. Rosemood pursues the same values, and we share the same mission and vision. In them, we have found the ideal strategic partner for our growth ambitions."

Driving growth in Europe

According to the company, Celebrate Company reported annual sales of over €70 million last year and growth rates of almost 30 percent. The acquisition is expected to increase the Gilching-based company's total annual sales for the current year to over €100 million. The company will employ a total of almost 500 people at its locations in Germany (Gilching, Schramberg, Hamburg, and Munich) and France (Nantes), serving more than 3 million customers across Europe.

With Rosemood, we can significantly expand our product portfolio, particularly in the very exciting photo book category, and thus further drive our growth in Europe. In recent years, continuous product improvements and operational excellence have already led to double-digit growth rates for our brands despite the coronavirus pandemic,"

thinks Patrick Leibold, Co-CEO of the Celebrate Company, said.

Join forces

The French company Rosemood is also convinced of the takeover. Gregoire Monconduit, CEO of Rosemood, says:

"We have known each other for many years, and after several years of getting to know each other, the idea arose to join forces to build one of the leading groups for stationery and photo products in Europe."

And Helene German, Managing Director of Rosemood, explains:

"We've built Rosemood over the past 12 years on two strong differentiators: service and design. Joining forces with Celebrate will greatly strengthen our brand in Europe through the sharing of expertise and know-how. We're excited and looking forward to starting this new chapter with Celebrate."
