Munich foodtech startups you should know

Our diet is changing; it should become healthier and, ideally, more sustainable and environmentally friendly. These Munich-based food tech startups are also focusing on this.

Wisefood: The foodtech startup Wisefood, which emerged from a student project in 2017, aims to revolutionize the plastic disposable tableware market. It all began with edible drinking straws made from plant fibers. The Wisefood product range now encompasses almost everything related to disposable tableware, much of it still edible. In 2020, the three founders, Philipp Sibernagel, Patricia Titz, and Maximilian Lemk, were able to successful financing round of one million euros Wisefood was also able to benefit from the EU-wide ban on single-use plastic tableware that came into force in July 2021. According to the company, it currently exports its products to more than 20 countries worldwide. Munich Startup Insights evaluates the Company value currently at 4 to 6 million euros.
