The Smarthome Initiative Germany sees itself as an intermediary between developers, manufacturers, specialist retailers, tradespeople, industry associations, and private and commercial users. With the Smarthome Germany Award, the initiative aims to support companies on their way to Smart HomeThe award aims to increase public interest and thus bring the topic closer to users. The award also aims to demonstrate that smart living is already possible for everyone.
The winners will be selected by a panel of experts. The prize will be awarded in four categories: 'Best Project,' 'Best Product,' 'Best Environmentally Friendly Project in Berlin,' and 'Best Startup.' Interested parties are welcome to submit individual applications in multiple categories.
The criteria for selection by the jury are:
- How innovative is the project or company?
- Is the product suitable for the mass market?
- Is the company suitable as a role model?
- Does the product increase energy efficiency, safety and/or comfort?
- For cross-discipline interoperability: Are standard interfaces used?
Applications possible until March 31
Interested startups operating in the smart home sector can apply online until March 31, 2022. Nominations per category will be announced starting April 29. The awards ceremony is scheduled for May 17 at the Rotes Rathaus (Red Town Hall) in Berlin and via YouTube live stream.
