Conxai raises 2.7 million euros

The AI startup Conxai has successfully completed its seed round, raising €2.7 million. Lead investors are Earlybird with its UNI-X Fund and Pi Labs. Conxai aims to digitize the construction industry with its AI platform.

Conxai leverages existing infrastructure on construction sites to digitize them. The AI platform collects and analyzes data from cameras and other available sensors to analyze construction activities and interpret how they impact the development of building structures.

This way the construction site is monitored automatically in real time and cost-optimizing events, safety, quality, and logistics can be identified and reported. Furthermore, a clear dashboard makes all registered events on a construction site searchable. Specifically, this includes not only individual construction phases, but also the arrival times of material deliveries, the manpower levels of subcontractors, and compliance with safety regulations. This makes it possible to measure not only results on the construction site, but also individual construction processes and their current progress. Another advantage: Traditionally, around 30 percent of the collected data is lost after construction is completed, even though it could be important for future projects. Conxai's solution puts an end to this, too.

Compared to the online portal Tech.eu explains CEO and Co-Founder Sharique Husain:

“Conxai will enable the players in the AEC industry (Note d. Editor: Architecture, Engineering and Construction) "It's easier to integrate and contextualize different types and formats of project lifecycle data and transform it into actionable and reusable knowledge to make informed decisions faster. Use cases range from improved visibility on the construction site to providing actionable insights for decision support to the future autonomy of machines and robots."

Four investors join Conxai

The Munich-based startup currently employs five people and runs several pilot projects, three in Germany and three in the USA. In the past, Conxai has already won the jury of the funding program Start? Grant! Now, for the first time, investors have followed suit. Lead investors in the seed round are Earlybird with its UNI-X Fund and Pi Labs. A/O Proptech and Argonautic Ventures also participated. The €2.7 million will primarily be used to further develop the solution and expand the team.

"We're seeing tremendous interest in deeptech solutions in the construction industry. Given the traditionally long sales cycles, now is the time to leverage a groundbreaking technology. Conxai is in the perfect position to do so,"

commented Earlybird UNI-X Partner Michael Schmitt.

"Founders Sharique and Krishna have a compelling product vision that enables a wide range of use cases for improving aspects such as efficiency, compliance, safety, and reporting on modern construction sites. Their no-code, explainable AI approach allows for adaptation to different customer needs without compromising the product's scalability."
