Slush 2021: Finally meeting people again

Over 2,000 investors attended Slush in Helsinki in 2019, making the event the world's largest gathering of venture capital. After a one-year hiatus, the organizers now aim to repeat this success. The results on site are clear: with success.

After a brief welcome from the Slush team, the first guest star takes the stage: Tony Fadell (right), the inventor of the iPod and iPhone and founder of the IoT company Nest, tells the audience about his career. Among other things, he recalls how, in his early 20s, he was shown a demonstration of the SMS system in Finland before its official launch and had no idea what it would entail. However, as a principal at the investor Future Shape, he is now better able to evaluate new inventions. When asked by moderator Michael Stothard (left) what Future Shape is looking for, Fadell said he isn't interested in the metaverse, social media, or marketing. He wants to shape the future and save humanity. (Photo: Petri Anttila)
