Linkedin ranking: Munich is increasingly competing with Berlin as a startup hotspot
LinkedIn evaluates its users' interactions on the platform for its ranking. Four aspects are considered: employee growth, interactions on the startup's and its employees' LinkedIn pages, interest in the startup's job openings, and the attractiveness of the job openings to highly qualified candidates. Only independent and privately owned companies with at least 50 employees, established for no more than seven years, and headquartered in Germany were considered.
According to LinkedIn, the ranking reveals a trend: Munich is increasingly competing with Berlin as a startup hotspot. Trends from the coronavirus pandemic are also reflected in the ranking, says Jacob Schulz, Editor-in-Chief News DACH & Benelux on Linkedin:
"Food delivery, as well as topics like finance, mobility, and sustainability, have become more important to many people during the crisis. This is also reflected in the interest of applicants in startups in these sectors."
