The goal of the Start?Zuschuss! program is to provide straightforward support to technology-oriented start-ups in the field of digitalization during their initial phase. This should help young, innovative companies establish themselves more easily in the market. Companies wishing to apply for funding must be no more than two years old by September 13. Furthermore, the companies must have a particularly sustainable and innovative business model. Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger says:
"With this competition, we are supporting more startups in their early stages than ever before. To consistently seize new economic opportunities, we need, above all, innovative business ideas, flexible action, and new ways of thinking, which the founders from Bavaria provide us with."
Start?Grant! provides funding of up to 36,000 euros
In particular, expenses for rent and personnel, the product's market launch, and research and development are subsidized by up to 50 percent. Companies receive a total of up to €36,000 through the program. The funding period is one year.
After the application deadline, an external jury of experts will select the winners in September Startups to be supported. Applications will then be processed with the selected applicants by October, and funding will begin in November 2021.
In the last round of the competition, 29 companies out of 149 applicants secured funding. 18 of the 29 startups selected in this round come from the Munich ecosystem.
