With the R&D Fellowship, the Media Lab Bayern Talented individuals who want to tackle the challenges in the media world. The focus will be on various questions, such as: How can media companies combat fake news? How can personalized journalistic content be implemented? What data should newsrooms really collect? Participants will have a total of five media challenges to choose from, for which they can develop solutions. The Media Lab also accepts proposals for their own media topics that demonstrate an urgent need for innovation.
Fellowship participants not only receive support in the form of coaching in innovation methods, but also receive funding of up to €7,500. They also have the opportunity to use a permanent workstation in one of the Media Lab's coworking spaces in Munich or Ansbach. The program is designed for two months, but there is the option to extend for an additional month.
Application for the R&D Fellowship
Anyone who wants to apply with their idea has until August 15thThe only prerequisite is that they should already have several years of experience in the media industry, for example as a journalist, media innovator, or developer. They are also expected to be able to devote themselves to the experiments part-time (up to a maximum of 30 hours per week) for approximately two months.
After the program, participants will have the opportunity to publish their results on a Media Lab platform, thus driving innovation in the media ecosystem. Participants will also have the chance to present their results at one of the Media Lab events. If a business model or collaboration with other media companies emerges, the Media Lab also offers support through one of its other programs.
