For 25 years now, the Munich Business Plan Competition has been supporting (budding) startup teams in their company development through three competition phases: from the basics of business planning and formulating the business idea, through market research, marketing and sales measures, to financial planning. Winning teams are selected in each phase. This was also the case in Phase 2 of this year's Munich Business Plan Competition, whose winners were announced yesterday.
Invitris takes first place: The startup uses platform technology to develop therapies for antibiotic-resistant infections. Filics, in second place, is working on a driverless, digital transport system for the logistics sector. Third place goes to Emocean with its real-time "operating system" for industrial IoT applications. Fourth place goes to the fintech startup Dividend and 5th place to Knowron with a digital assistant for service technicians in mechanical and plant engineering.
Qualified feedback despite industry diversity
"This year's winners reflect the great diversity of Munich's startup scene, but at the same time demonstrate the typical focus on business-to-business solutions. It's important to us to be able to offer startups qualified feedback, even across a wide range of industries. To this end, we have a network of 150 jurors in Munich alone, which we are constantly expanding."
says Carsten Rudolph, Managing Director of Baystartup. In addition to written expert feedback from entrepreneurs and investors, the winning startups will also receive a prize totaling 9,000 euros.
Next up is competition phase 3. Startup teams from across southern Bavaria can apply for the final phase 3 until May 18. All interested parties must submit a business plan of approximately 30 pages. All information about the application process can be found here.
