Additionally, Markus Lorenz, Managing Director at the Boston Consulting Group, and Kulpreet Singh, former Managing Director at Uipath, are investing in Actyx. Munich startup offers a decentralized software platform for the digitalization of industry. The Actyx platform is designed to significantly accelerate the development of new software.
The exact amount of the investment was not announced. startup scene reports a "single-digit million amount." The money will be used for sales and product development. Paua Ventures and System One had previously invested in the Munich-based company.
“Improvement in profitability by 20 to 30 percent” through Actyx platform
According to the startup, dozens of software providers and various factories around the world are already using the software platform. Customers include testing machine manufacturer Zwick Roell, materials distributor Klöckner, and a Fraunhofer Institute. Founder and CEO Oliver Stollmann says:
"The coronavirus pandemic has presented many factories with challenges, as analog processes allow little flexibility. Our goal is to make factories more flexible and productive through software. With our platform, we have created an ideal platform to achieve this goal for all factories worldwide. We are very happy to have gained additional supporters for the Actyx mission."
Sven Koepchen, Germany boss at Klöckner, says they are very satisfied with the setup developed jointly with Actyx:
"Thanks to the system, we've been able to increase our laser cutting productivity by ten percent so far. Overall, we expect an improvement in profitability of 20 to 30 percent."
