Munich among the 'Global Cities of the Future'

FDI Intelligence publishes a biennial ranking of the 'Global Cities of the Future.' Munich ranks 14th in the international competition of cities with the best future prospects.

In the ranking 'Global Cities of the Future' by FDI Intelligence, the Foreign trade experts from the Financial Times Group, 129 cities worldwide were evaluated in five dimensions: economic potential, human capital and quality of life, cost-effectiveness, connectivity and business friendliness. After a 22nd place in the last edition of the Rankings Munich improved to 14th place in the overall ranking this year. Singapore leads the way, followed by London, Dubai, Amsterdam, and Dublin.

Munich ranks 4th among similarly sized cities in the Global Cities of the Future

In the subcategory of "large cities," which includes Munich, the Bavarian capital ranks fourth behind Amsterdam, Dublin, and Abu Dhabi. "Large cities" include cities with two to five million inhabitants, as well as smaller cities like Munich, which have received more than 30 percent of a country's direct investment.
