Craftsmen often have leftover building materials lying around, taking up limited storage space. Via the platform Materialrest24 Unneeded material leftovers—as the name suggests—can be traded. Together with the purchasing company Bamaka, the Munich-based startup is now organizing the German Crafts Sustainability Competition for the second time.
Sustainability is part of the competition's name for two reasons: Firstly, it protects the environment when leftover materials are resold and used by another craft business instead of being disposed of. Sustainability competition offers non-cash prizes
To participate, craft businesses must advertise unused materials and machinery on materialrest24.de by April 30. The company with the most advertisements wins the competition. The five associations whose member companies post the most new advertisements will receive a total of €20,000 to support the construction trade. The companies themselves will also receive non-cash prizes worth more than €4,000.
