Munich Startup: What is your morning routine?
Caroline Heil, Parcellab: It's actually the same every day: First, I put down my bag, take off my walking shoes, and put on my Birkenstocks. Then I get some cereal, fruit, and tea from the kitchen before opening my laptop and getting an overview by sorting through my to-dos for the day.
Munich Startup: What is your favorite work tool?
Caroline Heil: “It’s best to think with pen and paper”
Caroline Heil, Parcellab: I'm pretty analog in my approach and like to use just pen and paper. I find that's usually the best way to think.
Munich Startup: Which three apps are indispensable?
Caroline Heil, Parcellab: My number 1: Teams: For quick exchange with colleagues, and to distribute my daily quota of Giphys.
Number 2: Notion: For almost everything—from to-do lists to brainstorming, project plans, and knowledge documentation. You can really do a lot with it.
Number 3: Zoom: For building a collaborative relationship with clients via video and discussing projects. This app has been a valuable companion for me, both professionally and personally, especially in the last few months.
Munich Startup: Which Munich event is a must-attend as a Technical Account Manager?
Caroline Heil, Parcellab: To be honest, there isn't just one event for me. However, I always like to use Meetup.com and look for different events on different topics that interest me the most.
Think outside the box
Munich Startup: Which book do you recommend?
Caroline Heil, Parcellab"For my creative workload, I take a shower" – the daily rituals of famous artists. The book inspires me to think outside the box and approach things differently. I can truly recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new.
Munich Startup: What is your favorite type of meeting?
Caroline Heil, Parcellab: I prefer workshops with my team. These always involve a lot of interaction, a whiteboard, and lots of post-its.
Munich Startup: What is your biggest stumbling block in your daily business?
Caroline Heil, Parcellab: Even though I really enjoy the operational project work with clients, I also have to make sure to schedule enough time for strategic and team-related topics. Time management is half the battle.
The love of to-do lists
Munich Startup: What is your motivation booster in your everyday work life?
Caroline Heil, Parcellab: When my colleague at the table opposite me brings me a cup of tea from the kitchen without asking and I can cross off a new item on my to-do list – I think you're starting to notice that I love to-do lists.
Munich Startup: How do you end your working day?
Caroline Heil, Parcellab: Make sure my inbox is empty—keyword: zero inbox. And tidy my desk, because throughout the day, a lot of Post-its and paper that's no longer absolutely necessary end up there. And then, of course, finally, I take off my Birkenstocks, put on my street shoes, and head off for the evening.
