There are virtually no limits to the scope of projects that can be submitted for the Iqvia Start-up Award 2020. Proposals can range from pharmaceutical-related projects and medical technology to concepts for digitalization or patient care, or even involve a combination of multiple dimensions. Ideas and projects related to the current coronavirus crisis are also welcome, but not mandatory. Startups must submit a short pitch deck to apply; a video pitch is not permitted in the first phase.
A panel of experts will select a maximum of six submissions from all applications received. These finalists will be invited to present their projects to industry experts and the panel of experts at a pitch during an Iqvia event – possibly in virtual format – in the fall. Immediately afterward, all participants will select the winner in a live vote. Applications are due by July 31, 2020. on-line possible.
The winner of the Iqvia Start-up Award will receive a customized service package. With access to Iqvia services and technologies worth €30,000, the company will support the further development of the winning project.

This creates new challenges that require innovative concepts to address them. The coronavirus pandemic can act as an accelerator for this. For example, there are various initiatives to use anonymized patient data, including through individual 'data donations,' for ad hoc research in the context of the virus. Since Iqvia is involved in healthcare and healthcare provision in various ways and at various points, awarding the Startup Prize is important to us in order to accompany a pioneering project and support its implementation. Furthermore, this framework also offers the opportunity to network with other healthcare stakeholders."
