Digital scholarship 'Think Digital' enters second round

Until 27 October 2019, Munich students can apply for the second round of the Digital scholarship 'Think Digital' of the Internet Business Cluster (IBC). The funding program starts on November 18, 2019, and runs for 12 months..

The Internet Business Cluster association is a joint project of Ludwig Maximilian University, the University of Regensburg, and various leading German digital companies such as Hubert Burda Media, Publicis Sapient, Messe München, HSE 24, the Hoffmann Group, and GEMA. The "Think Digital" digital scholarship is sponsored by the Bavarian State Minister for Digital Affairs, Judith Gerlach. Other sponsors include IBM, Xing, Elsevir, Netlight Consulting, Werk1, and SWM.

Katharina Hermann, Human Resources Director at Hubert Burda Media emphasizes the importance of the scholarship program as follows:

"It's becoming increasingly important for companies to attract young talent with outstanding digital skills at an early stage. With the Think Digital scholarship, we're supporting the talents of tomorrow and connecting them with companies in the digital industry. Last year's successful premiere proved that the scholarship is in tune with the times."

Digital scholarship 'Think Digital': Visionaries wanted

Munich bachelor's students in their third semester and above, as well as master's students from all disciplines, are eligible to apply for the digital scholarship. However, academic excellence in the major subject and experience in digital technologies through a relevant minor, practical experience, or the founding of a startup are required.

All 60 scholarship recipients will be assigned a dedicated mentor. They will also be able to participate in various conferences and learning events with IBM and Netlight Consulting, as well as access a broad network within the digital industry. On top of that, each selected student will receive an iPad Pro and a €200 continuing education budget, which can be used individually for courses, events, or software. The program also includes free access to Skillshare courses and Xing Premium.
