#CoronaUpdate with Flixbus: "It's a very difficult situation for us"

The green buses of the Munich-based mobility company Flixbus were a common sight on the streets until recently. Due to the coronavirus crisis, the company was forced to cease operations and was only recently able to cautiously restart with a new hygiene concept and a limited timetable. Co-founder and Managing Director André Schwämmlein reports on the next steps for his company in the #CoronaUpdate.

Flixbus has been on the market since 2013 and has since become a giant in the global mobility industry. The Munich-based company offers bus connections in 31 countries worldwide. Under the brand Flixtrain, the company also arranges rides on green trains.

Since March 18, nothing has been happening: The company had to completely cease operations due to the coronavirus. Since last Thursday, the green buses have finally been rolling on European roads again – but for now. only to about 50 destinations in Germany. This roughly corresponds to the network that Flixbus served when it launched in 2013.

Flixbus: “We are in an industry that has been hit extremely hard by Corona”

Together with its medium-sized partners who operate the buses, the Munich-based company has developed a hygiene and safety concept to enable operations to resume. Schwämmlein provides details in the #CoronaUpdate video.
