Understanding the crisis as an opportunity and developing sustainable ideas for Munich from it — that is the approach of the virtual hackathon on April 17 and 18. Participation is free of charge.
The #WirVsVirus Hackathon, which took place in March, demonstrated how quickly good ideas can be generated and implemented. In 48 hours, 28,000 people developed over 1,500 solutions to challenges related to the coronavirus crisis.
This concept will be continued at the local level with the MUC United Hackathon. The question is: What can we learn from the situation and how can Munich emerge stronger from the crisis?
Focus on challenges made visible by Corona
Together with the Munich universities, the City of Munich, the BMW Foundation and the Hans Sauer Foundation, the Impact Hub the MUC United Ideas Marathon. For two days, around 200 Munich residents will develop solutions—campaigns, startups and project ideas, initiatives, actions, movements, and networks—for societal challenges. The focus will be on challenges that may not be directly related to the coronavirus, but whose urgency has become increasingly apparent due to the current crisis.
