Munich isn't just home to Oktoberfest and football; it's also the city with the best future prospects in Germany. This is confirmed by a recent study by the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) in collaboration with Berenberg Bank. Employment, education, internationality, and population growth were considered as key factors in this study.
The city of Munich stood out from its competitors with its outstanding location and high level of education among its citizens. Competitors According to the study, 48.9 percent of employees in Munich work in knowledge-intensive occupations. Furthermore, 28.5 percent of Munich's employees have a technical college or university degree.
“Munich’s future prospects are positive, not least because of the region’s high knowledge capacity and first-class supply of skilled workers,” said Dr. Hans-Walter Peters, spokesman for the personally liable partners of Berenberg.
A total of 30 German cities were examined for the ranking. Berlin took second place, followed by Leipzig in third. Perennial winner Frankfurt, however, was relegated to fourth place this year.
