With the Female Founders Award, the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmChamGermany) honors female founders with particularly innovative and successful business models. Among this year's recipients is the Munich-based founder of Social-Bee.
The 2019 Female Founders Award was presented in Berlin. The award, established by AmChamGermany, evaluates not only the innovative strength of the business model but also financing and growth figures.
“We are delighted to honor three passionate female founders and their successful and promising business models with the Female Founders Award,”
said Eveline Metzen, Managing Director of AmCham Germany. Jury member Torsten Oltmanns, Chairman of the Berlin Chapter of AmCham Germany and Partner at Roland Berger, further explained:
"It's particularly important to us to combine American entrepreneurial spirit and German entrepreneurship. The three winners are role models for other female founders; they inspire and motivate other women to become entrepreneurs."
Show positive examples
The three award-winning founders are Zarah Bruhn, Co-Founder & CEO of Social Bee, Xenia Scholl, Co-Founder & COO TeleRetail and Michelle Skodowski, CO-Founder & COO Botfriends.
The Munich founder Zarah Bruhn was delighted with the award:
"The Female Founders Award helps to make female founders visible and highlight positive examples. They draw attention to the profession and show other women that they can be successful in the startup scene, even or especially as women."
Social Bee is Germany's first integration service provider. The Munich-based startup, a non-profit organization, facilitates the sustainable integration of refugees through temporary employment. Refugees receive professional support and training on their path to the job market while being employed by partner companies.
