The Munich-based startup Gerotor is delighted to have received the 'Startup Award Mechanical Engineering Summit 2019'. The awards ceremony took place as part of the 11th German Mechanical Engineering Summit in Berlin.
On the Industry meeting for mechanical and plant engineering Startups had the opportunity to compete against each other in a pitch contest and convince the audience of their innovative business ideas.
The winner was chosen by a total of 500 high-ranking decision-makers from the industry in a participant vote. Clean-tech startup Gerotor won the election with its high-performance flywheel storage system.
Gerotor reduces CO2 footprint
The startup's energy storage system increases the energy efficiency of machines and systems in industrial and manufacturing companies while simultaneously reducing energy consumption and the companies' carbon footprint. In this way, Gerotor contributes to climate protection. Co-Founder Marcel Werner commented:
"In her opening speech, Ms. Merkel emphasized that measures for efficient CO2 savings must also be prioritized in industry. We are therefore particularly proud of the award for our high-performance storage system."
He also adds:
We are extremely pleased that the participants of the most important event in German mechanical and plant engineering recognize the contribution our disruptive storage technology can make to climate protection and the achievement of climate goals."
