Competition 'Innovators under 35': These Munich residents are taking part

At the Startup Night on 6 September in Berlin, the German-language innovation magazine Technology Review Heise Media announced the ten winners of the "Innovators Under 35" competition. Among the award winners are several young Munich entrepreneurs.

The competition recognizes young entrepreneurs with the most innovative and forward-looking ideas. This year's winners were selected by a panel of experts, including Helmut Schöneberger, CEO of UVC Partners and UnternehmerTUM , Marion Weissenberger-Eibl, the director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, Orestis Terzidis, director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship, Technology Management and Innovation at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Tobias Kraus, head of structure formation at the Leibniz Institute for New Materials INM.

Among the ten award winners this year are again several young Munich entrepreneurs.

  • Michael Baumann from the mobility startup Twaice is working on making electric car batteries more durable.
  • Miriam Haerst, Co-Founder of Kumovis and her team have developed a 3D printer with an integrated cleanroom environment for medical technology.
  • Daniel Metzler, co-founder of the space startup Isar Aerospace, together with his team, is developing a launch vehicle for small payloads.
  • Maria Sievert from the medtech company Inveox aims to prevent fatal errors for patients with an automated tissue sample management system.

The competition originated from the US magazine MIT Technology Review. This award is considered one of the most prestigious prizes for young entrepreneurs. Previous winners include Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Daniel Ek of Spotify.
