German Accelerator sends ten startups to the USA

Starting in October, the German Accelerator will send a total of ten startups to Silicon Valley and New York. The young companies can count on the support of the German Accelerator's experienced team and mentor network as they expand into the US. Fun With Balls, a startup from Munich, is also involved.

Management consulting, logistics, finance, gaming, sensor technology — the industries in which the winners of this year's US Class selection process operate could not be more diverse. But there is one common denominator: All of them have German Accelerator advertised because they want to expand their products into the USA.

“We will benefit from the extensive network and many years of experience of the German Accelerator program,”

means for example Sven Merten, Managing Director USA of Comatch. Mertens' startup has developed a platform that connects companies with independent management consultants.

Avoid typical mistakes and make relevant contacts

German Accelerator not only provides support through its network and experience, but also provides practical office space. Participants are provided with free office space for three months, either in New York or Silicon Valley. Since the program is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, startups are not required to sell company shares or pay a participation fee.

Nevertheless, the startups are aware that they are facing difficult times ahead. Benjamin Federmann, Co-Founder and CEO of the logistics management startup doks.innovation, states:

"We've now built a solid customer base in Europe, and we're now looking to get off to a flying start in the US. Thanks to the experience of the German Accelerator team, we hope to avoid common mistakes, quickly establish relevant contacts, and thus position ourselves sustainably in the American market."

Fun With Balls: Revolutionizing Classic Sports

With Fun With Balls A Munich-based startup is also part of the new US Class. The young company aims to combine sports and gaming, revolutionizing traditional sports. Fun With Balls has already launched an interactive squash court as its first product.
