Young companies from the food sector can now apply for this year's contest 'Next Level 2019'. The competition is organized via the crowdfunding platform Startnext and the Nutrition ClusterIn Round 1, the winners will receive €10,000 in funding and a booth at the Food & Life trade fair in Munich. Round 2 will feature a pitch, giving participants the chance to win additional attractive prizes.

Who can participate in 'Next Level 2019'?

German food and beverage startups that were founded after 1 January 2015 and that have a Crowdfundingcampaign. The funding goal—the amount to be raised through the campaign—must be at least €5,000. Furthermore, the products should already be marketable and available for prompt delivery in scalable quantities.

Round 1: The crowdfunding contest

In In the first round, startups prepare their crowdfunding campaigns and compete against each other on the crowdfunding platform Startnext from September 24 to October 29. Who will gain the most backers for their food startup? The deciding factor is not the amount of funding achieved, but the number of people who have financially supported the startup.

“With this competition, we want to promote young food companies that can convince not only the jury, but above all their target audience,”

explained Simon Reitmeier, Managing Director of the Nutrition Cluster.

Round 2: The Food Startup Pitch

The three winners of the Food Crowdfunding Competition automatically qualify for the Food Startup Pitch. Here, participants pitch to a panel of judges, ideally convincing them of their startup, their products, and their expertise. Other attractive prizes include coaching from the ProSiebenSat.1 Accelerator with the chance to win a media investment of one million euros from SevenVentures.
