VRdirect secures a single-digit million-dollar capital. Investors include Flixbus founders Daniel Krauss, Jochen Engert, and André Schwämmlein.
Good news from VRdirect, a spin-off of the Munich-based augmented reality provider Re'flect: Several business angels — led by Rocket Internet Supervisory Board Chairman Marcus Englert — are investing in the Munich startup. Among the investors are Flixbus-Founders Daniel Krauss, Jochen Engert and André Schwämmlein.
Flixbus-CIO Daniel Krauss says:
"Virtual Reality is a very relevant technology. It offers multiple promising use cases — not only for the tourism and travel industry. We are convinced that VR is one of the most relevant technologies for the near-term future and VRdirect is in a great position to tap this market opportunity."
Fresh capital & new industries
In total, VRdirect — formerly Viond — has raised a single-digit million-dollar sum. Since 2018, the Munich-based startup has been working on a 360-degree virtual reality platform with its own VR player. With the fresh capital, the team led by Rolf Illenberger aims to expand its application area to include the real estate industry and acquire new target groups.
