Ottonova is breaking new ground: Together with the Global Side Group, the Munich-based startup is founding the joint venture Global Scale Solutions. The venture will combine the innovative strength of the Munich-based startup with the experience and expertise of its partner company. Frank Birzle, co-founder of Ottonova, will be the managing director. The merger aims to develop innovative, scalable products in the insurance and healthcare sectors. The first partners have already been acquired, including Süddeutsche Krankenversicherung (SDK).
Ottonova and Global Side Services, a company of the Global Side Group, want to join forces to drive progress in the German healthcare market and have therefore founded the joint venture Global Scale Solutions.
The team at Ottonova, one of the innovation leaders among private health insurers in Germany, has extensive expertise in the design, project management, implementation, and operation of modern, cloud-based, and mobile applications.
The Global Side Group is an innovative solutions partner for the insurance and financial services industry. With its products for invoice auditing and settlement for statutory and private health insurance companies (ZABAS), the Global Side Group has a strong market position in the European insurance and financial services industry.

The founding of Global Scale Solutions is intended to represent a fusion of innovation and extensive experience that aims to drive the further development of existing products of both founding companies as well as the creation of new offerings.
Managing Director Frank Birzle sees the founding as an impetus for the digitalization of the German insurance market:

Birzle is co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Ottonova. Before joining the Munich-based startup, he held many management positions at Rocket Internet and, as CTO, helped numerous startups increase their operational performance.
