Accelerator for tourism startups launched: Falkensteiner Ventures supports young tourism companies with seed financing, venture capital, office space and the network of the initiators: hotel magnate Erich Falkensteiner and former Managing Director of Thomas Cook International, Beat Blaser. Applications are now possible.
Falkensteiner Ventures is the new accelerator for young companies in the hotel, travel, and leisure industries. Erich Falkensteiner, founder and Chairman of FMTG Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group, and Beat Blaser, former Managing Director of Thomas Cook International, support startups with seed financing of up to €500,000 each, expertise, their network, and office space in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and South Tyrol.
"As a multiple founder with many years of experience, I know the challenges the industry brings. I'm looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and mentoring young founders, helping them build their businesses and help them achieve their breakthrough,"
says Erich Falkensteiner.
Falkensteiner Ventures is already involved in several tech startups, including RateBoard, Smart Host, and SuitePad, and is looking for additional companies with innovative business models. Applications are welcome on a continuous basis.
Scalable hotel concepts sought
Falkensteiner Ventures is looking for additional tech startups in the hotel and supplementary hotel industry, such as vacation rentals or camping, in the tourism and leisure sector, and in the growing elderly care market. The startups have the opportunity to challenge and further develop their products and business models with experienced specialists and coaches.
"The hotel and travel industry relies on new concepts, but often still operates in a very traditional and entrenched way. The challenge is to align the innovative, customer-centric business ideas of startup teams with the needs of established companies and create synergies, growth, and added value,"
explained Beat Blaser, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Falkensteiner Ventures.
