Bernstein wins University Innovation Challenge

The Munich-based startup Bernstein emerged as the winner of the "Future Data Intelligence" category of the University Innovation Challenge. As a premium partner of the startup competition, Samsung Electronics also awarded the Munich-based company the special prize at the finals at Goethe University Frankfurt. In addition to Bernstein, five other startup projects with a university background were honored as winners—including the Munich-based company Inveox in the "Future Life Science" category.

“To find sustainable solutions to the challenges facing society as a whole, we need digital visionaries and developers at universities and startups – like our winners of the University Innovation Challenge,”

says Steffen Ganders, Director Corporate Affairs at Samsung Electronics GmbH.

“The winners have found fascinating solutions in the areas of health, energy, environmental protection and data security.”

 Bernstein develops innovative notarization platform

The three founders of amber impressed the jury with their decentralized, encrypted solution for securing intellectual property. This solution enables companies to register inventions, designs, and concept ideas based on blockchain technology. In return, they receive certificates that they can use to prove the authorship of the content. Thanks to Bernstein's unique zero-knowledge architecture and cryptographic encryption, users can generate certificates for their digital assets without sharing data with third parties – even Bernstein doesn't know the content.

As an additional honor, the Munich-based company will receive an invitation to the Samsung Developer Conference on November 7 and 8 in San Francisco, where it will have the opportunity to present itself to a global audience.

With Inveox Another Munich-based startup was successful in the competition. The company was named winner in the "Future Life Science" category. It has developed a method to improve cancer diagnoses and advance the digitalization of laboratories.
