The Munich Volkswagen Data:Lab is entering a new round: Tech startups can apply until 29 June 2018 applyFor the so-called “Startup Collaboration Space,” it is important that the innovative ideas are relevant to the automotive industry.

Starting in September 2018, the Startup Collaboration Space at the VW Data:Lab in Munich will be supporting startups that focus on artificial intelligence or machine learning in its new batch.
Related areas such as big data analytics are also interesting. At the same time, there should be a connection to the automotive industry.
By participating in the international program, startups benefit from networking opportunities within the company. Furthermore, the young companies receive free offices in Munich for three months in the Startup Collaboration Space.
The Startup Collaboration Space offers network, money and coaching
In addition, the founders receive coaching and feedback from the data scientists in the Data:Lab, as well as — also not to be sniffed at — 15,000 euros (without equity).
That says Erich Payer, CEO of deepvirtuality and former batch participant, on his experience in the VW Data:Lab:
"Without the Volkswagen Data:Lab we would not have reached the position we are in now so fast. Supported by amazing guys we were able to achieve most significant advancements of our AI technology (eg massive reduction of training times of our neural networks [...]) and to establish pretty promising business contacts [...]."
In particular, the VR startup was able to expand its network within the VW Group and among suppliers. Another exciting added value for participating startups is the opportunity to test their ideas directly with customers. The marketability of the product and much more can be tested in the Startup Collaboration Space.
