Shape me: Munich woman wins Maschmeyer show

After Sat1 pulled the startup show "Start Up!" from its television schedule, things had gone quiet for the Maschmeyer show. The prestigious main prize was now awarded online—to Munich-based management consultant Jennifer Schwade and her company Shape me.

After only four of eight planned episodes, the show "Start Up!", in which Carsten Maschmeyer is looking for the perfect founder, was canceled by Sat1. Maschmeyer's idiosyncratic social media campaign could not convince viewers to tune in. Recently, 650,000 spectators This corresponded to a market share of 2.3 percent. Sat1 then broadcast the remaining four episodes only on its online portal.

The final episode aired there last week. 30-year-old management consultant Jennifer Schwade won the show's finale. The Munich native received a one million euro investment from Carsten Maschmeyer and is founding a company with the investor. Munich-based Shape me GmbH offers an "arm shaper" for women. The garment is worn like a sleeve and is designed to look more even than an arm without the shaper.

Shape me is working on a dirndl blouse

Regarding her future plans, Jennifer Schwade:

“My goal is to launch a dirndl blouse with a shaping effect by the time Oktoberfest starts in September.”

She is confident that her products will convince customers. Carsten Maschmeyer says about his winner:

"Jennifer prevailed against 2,000 competitors and developed impressively. In the various challenges she had to overcome, she proved that she is up to the challenges of everyday entrepreneurship. I am convinced that Jennifer has what it takes to become a very successful founder."
