New round at Wayra Germany

The new application round at Wayra Germany is underway: Young companies in the areas of human resources, transport analytics, network services, and process mining can apply for funding until April 15, 2018.

The collaboration with the startups also Wayra's parent company Telefónica will benefitThe winners will be able to implement a 100-day project with €25,000 in prize money and gain Telefónica, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, as a customer. The founding teams will also be provided with office space in the center of Munich.

The startups will also gain access to technology and management experts from the Wayra and Telefónica network and become part of a global community. HR, transport analytics, network services, and process mining startups can apply until April 15.

Intensive exchange between Wayra and Telefónica

"With this new round, we are continuing our course: Wayra aims to provide startups with access to Telefónica. Through direct exchange with the group, innovative technology companies should make rapid progress and further develop their business models,"

says Christian Lindener, Managing Director at Wayra Germany.

In order to provide added value to both sides – the startups and the group – there is a continuous exchange between Telefónica and Wayra.

“This allows us to learn where Telefónica’s business units see a need for innovative technological solutions,”

Lindener continued.

Startups in the field of process mining, for example, should be able to offer solutions for automated data processes – and thus contribute to making various business processes at Telefónica more transparent and faster.

One hand washes the other

With this new round, Wayra is now looking for the second time since its Reorganization at the end of last year for talented entrepreneurs. The core of the new strategy is to provide mature startups and young technology companies with direct access to the group, thus giving them a boost in innovation and growth.

Telefónica, in turn, receives impetus from the collaboration and the new technologies to further advance the digitalization of processes and products. At the end of February, five startups from the areas of IoT (Internet of Things), data analysis and artificial intelligence.
