“Implementation instead of dreaming” – Tozy on her crowdfunding campaign

Many company start-ups are preceded by a "pain" for the founders. This was also the case with the Munich startup Tozy, in this case, even in the literal sense. One of the founders' favorite coats was destroyed in an accident. This gave rise to the idea for Tozy, a coat with interchangeable elements. The idea will now become a concrete product if the funding goal of €20,000 is reached in the current crowdfunding campaign.

The Tozy coat—Trench and Cozy—features a newly developed hidden zipper and buttonhole system that allows nine different elements of the coat to be interchanged, allowing for a new look time and time again. The founding team is particularly committed to fair production of the fabrics and coats in Europe, as well as a sustainable and conscious use of resources.

To bring the coat to market together with future customers, the founders have decided to raise funding through a crowdfunding campaign. In addition to proof of market, the startup also hopes to gain feedback from future customers.

Dominik Hirschberger, CO-Founder of Tozy, on the further motivations:

"Our goal is to develop a strong relationship with our clients. This works best when we involve them in the building and growth of our company right from the start.

To do justice to this approach, the crowdfunding campaign is perfect for us.”

“Implement instead of dream”

During the planning process, the four founders jumped over one or two hurdles, but at the same time learned a lot. Jaqueline Schaupp, co-founder, explains:

The most important lesson for us was: Implement instead of dream. Concepts and plans are all well and good, but you shouldn't overplan and waste time that could be used for implementation. And you should never forget the reality factor.

After the crowdfunding campaign ends in December, the first coats are expected to be delivered in March. If you want to learn more about the Munich-based startup, take a look at the “7 Questions” interview pure.
